An impromptu trip to Yellowstone Nat’l Park!
On the way back home from my college graduation and our trip to New York City, we stopped in the West for some business, and one last adventure: an impromptu trip to Yellowstone National Park! It was so much fun! We drove through it for a couple hours. It was calming and peaceful, but also exciting and stimulating, to be surrounded by all that Old West style nature!
A beaver dam!! And, MORE BUFFALO! (The first time we saw those was during our Utah trip this spring, and it was nice to see some again!) These were just sitting by the road. Lots of people were stopping to take pictures, but they didn’t seem to mind the attention 😉 Zoom lens time! Amber waves of grain… The steam here is coming from natural hot mineral springs in the earth. Pretty cool!
The park is huge, so we didn’t drive through it all, but we did want to take some time to go see Old Faithful. You can click on and enlarge the below sign to read some about it.
It was steaming for quite some time, like this. And it kept steaming… Then, water started spraying up… It shot up really high!
It continued for some minutes, then abruptly tapered off. And the steam started up again. More hot springs Just as we were leaving, we saw another herd of buffalo by the side of the road. So we stopped for a bit. They got really close to the car!
I mean, REALLY close! But, they were minding their business the whole time!
For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know all the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
~ Psalm 50:10-11 ~
Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.
~ Psalm 96:12 ~
